In Person Strategies
In this section, I'll talk about the different in-person strategies to recruit new patients. First, let's discuss the advertising side.
When designing the flyers, it should have certain key elements to target your specific audience. Below is a sample flyer to attract a denture patient.
Breakdown of the Flyer
1. A picture patients can identify with --------> Older person ( Although not all denture patient's fit this description)
2. Identify the most common issues potential denture patients deal with -------> Self conscious, issues eating, and cost of treatment
3. Give a potential solution to their issues ---------> A phone consultation with you where you can tell them about your services
Location to post flyers & distribute business cards
Local Churches: They tend to have weekly announcements either in person or in the weekly bulletin. If you feel comfortable talking in front of a crowd you can ask to give a quick 5 min announcement offering your services or just advertise in the bulletin.
Coffee shops and book stores: Many of them have bulletin boards you can place your flyers on.
Gyms: Some will allow people to drop off business cards or flyers in the main entrance.
Downtown shops: If where you live has a downtown area with smaller shops, that could also be a great area to post flyers and talk to managers. If done correctly, the managers could be one of your biggest advocates.
Grocery stores: This is going to take a little bit of research as far laws on advertising outside a grocery store but ideally this would good place to catch a good age range of patients.
Retirement or Nursing Homes: This is great place to utilize announcement boards or even volunteer once or twice a month.
Free Dental Clinics: You can volunteer here and recruit patients. Those free clinics may not offer a full range of services, that's where you come in.
Bingo Nights: Yes. Bingo Night. Search on online where the local Bingo nights are held. Find out you can post your flyers where there is the most traffic in the building. A couple of places to think about are the entrance and near the bathroom.
Restaurants: This is going to be an awesome location for you for several reasons. You know that some people work night shifts. Those people are the ideal type of patient's because they may be free during the daytime when you have clinic.
Apartment Complexes: Connect with the front desk office. Give them your business cards and ask permission to post your flyer in lobby.
Laundromat: This is a high traffic place depending on the location. This is a place where people may be lingering and wondering while they wait for their clothes. Once again, if your flyers are in a strategic visible area, you can get some good leads.
Ubers and Lyft: If you know any Uber drivers, you can give them a stack of your business cards to keep with them. They can even put one of your flyers on the back of the driver's and passenger's seat of the car.
